The Distress of Sleepless Hours

Restlessness can ensnare you like a vice during the night. Every sound becomes amplified, every shadow takes on an ominous form. You toss and turn, your thoughts swirling, desperate for some elusive tranquility. Sleep, once a gentle refuge, has become a distant memory. The hours crawl by, each one an eternity of agony.

We must face/confront/stand against the emptiness/void/terror, and discover/remember/unearth the unbreakable spirit that lies within/deep inside/at our core.

To truly crave oblivion was to ache for a fleeting respite from the weight of being.
